Fortifying Resilience & Security

With growing antisemitism a major global threat to Jews, ensuring the strength and safety of Jewish communities worldwide is paramount.

Security Assistance Fund

Providing assistance with physical security to ensure the safety of Jewish communities is our Security Assistance Fund, which enables Jewish institutions to make upgrades via grants that invest in security improvements and training. This includes controlled entry systems, CCTV and video surveillance, intruder alarms, reinforced doors and windows, exterior lighting, x-ray equipment, gates, and more, helping keep synagogues, schools, community centers and Jewish organizations safe.

In early 2026, The Jewish Agency’s Security Assistance Fund received a
$1.5 million grant from The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust to further safeguard Jewish communities worldwide at a time of surging antisemitism.

Our Bondi Beach Response

In December 2025, when a terror attack was carried out at a Chanukkah event at Bondi Beach in Sydney, Australia, JReady’s ability to be there for Jewish communities in emergencies was never clearer. Less than 48 hours after the deadly shooting, JReady deployed a delegation of Israeli experts in trauma response, community recovery and long-term resilience development to support the local Australian community. At the same time, JReady also activated hotlines together with NATAL—The Israel Trauma and Resiliency Center for Israelis in Australia and Australian citizens in Israel.

"When Jews are attacked anywhere, it affects us everywhere. The Jewish people face shared threats – and we must respond with shared responsibility, across borders and oceans. Our answer – now as then – is solidarity, responsibility, and the determination to build a stronger future together."
Mark Wilf
The Jewish Agency Chairman of the Board of Governors
"There is physical security and infrastructure, and there’s also people’s sense of security. Our goal is to ensure that Jewish communities know how to respond in emergencies but also that they feel supported and prepared long before a crisis occurs."
Yehuda Setton
The Jewish Agency CEO & Director General
